Winemaking Description: Following in the tradition, the Indra Block delivers another wine of exceptional quality. Made from very low yields in 100% new French oak with minimal intervention.
The Story: The quality of the vintage, and the yield of grapes are often closely linked in the mind of wine drinkers. Readers of back labels will be familiar with statements like, “We had a kind vintage, with perfect ripening conditions, expect a lot of stunning wines this year". Fair enough if it’s true. Then there are statements such as, "It was a tough vintage, cold during grape set, but incredibly hot during the latter stages of ripening. But the yields were way down, so quality will be up. Mmmm... Surely a case of having your cake and eating it too.
In 2015 we made 300 bottles of Indra from our 1.8 acres, very low yields indeed. The quality excellent, but don’t take our word for it, try it for yourself.
