NV Nadeson Collis Inception
92 Points - Halliday
The NV NADESON COLLIS ‘Inception’ is almost entirely Chardonnay from 2020, aged for 48 months on lees with 1.5g/l dosage. The current release was disgorged in March 2025 - Only 809 bottles disgorged.
Using the finest Chardonnay from Drumborg, Henty. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented in a mixture of barriques and foudre. Aged on site in oak for 15 months before being tiraged and aged on lees in bottle for a further 27 months prior to disgorgement. 89% of this wine is from the 2020 vintage with 11% reserve wine coming from the solera, a perpetual blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Munier that has been developing since 2006.
The wine displays green fruit, citrus and oyster shell on the nose and crisp white peach and a chalky finish on the palate.
"Here, 89% is from '20, with the balance being a chardonnay-dominant solera. All the base wine was fermented and matured in mainly neutral wood and aged in foudre, and the wine spent two years on lees before disgorgement. With its inspiration coming from artisanal grower champagne, you will find gently oxidative, bruised apple, nutty and honeyed aromas. The palate is bone dry and flavoursome, with racy acidity keeping it all nicely balanced." Philip Rich, Halliday, 92 Points

"A very vinous sparkling, composed, rich, silky in texture, the Inception sees around 25% solera material blended with the remaining wine, chardonnay from 2017. The combined wines are matured in barrel. It’s a bold sparkling with honey on toast, cashew and sea-spray characters. Fuller in flavour, it shows a zingy tang of acidity and vigorous, big bubbles. There’s so much going on here."

"Really full, textural and rich sparkling with honey, toast, nutty and very strong saline characters rolling around. Vinous in a way, but full-bodied, a touch of sherbetty lift and light white vinegar tang, a funky kind of fizz with lots of personality, vivacious feel and gentle bubbles. Lots of complexity and interest here."
