2023 Bartl Chardonnay

The Bartl is a special vineyard, planted by and cared for by our long time friend Stephan Bartl. 

It produces wines of rare intensity and concentration, cropped at 1.5-2 tonnes to the acre. Hand harvested and whole-bunch pressed, it undergoes indigenous yeast fermentation in 100% new French oak puncheons. Then racked off to around 50% new French oak for 12 months where it naturally goes through MLF.

The wine displays ripe nectarines and complex spicy notes, it will also age superbly, if you have the patience. Only 824 bottles produced.
