Dark cherry, Satsuma plum and berry aromas with some funky, earthy spice, and forest-floor traces. Vibrant, berry flavours, crunchy tannins and elegant mouthfeel with a lingering fresh finish.
“Strikingly varietal and yet quite rich through the palate. Win-win. Savouriness is certainly in style here, sweetness much less so, with graphite, woodsmoke and twiggy herb notes running through red and black cherry, even plum. There’s a touch of warmth, orange peel notes too, while a bit of reduction helps continue the savoury theme, or at least adds to it. All up, it’s good, no problems.” 92 points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
