A big spiel on the front label labours over the ‘Sideways effect’ and merlot. Always like reading Lethbridge’s labels. Anyway, it’s merlot from Geelong, which could be uneasy bedfellows, but has made for a charismatic child here.
Slinky, medium weight, succulent thing this is. Oak is present but finely meshed, indeed, this is an instructional video in how to use wood as seasoning, with layers of spice woven through the attractively soft sour plum fruit character in bouquet and palate. It’s a fine thrust of merlot here, elegant, willowy yet honed with fine tannin. Really, this is very good.
