Last week we had glowing reviews in the new Australian Wine Companion 2012; the Dr Nadeson Riesling 2010 scored 96 points, the Lethbridge Shiraz 2009 scored 95, the Lethbridge Pinot Noir 2009, Pinot Gris 2010 and Que Syrah Syrah 2009 Shiraz scored 94 and the Lethbridge Chardonnay 2009 scored 93.
Lethbridge Wines also recieved 5 Red Stars, indicating an 'outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity.'
We are very pleased to get such great reviews from Australias foremost authority and bestselling guide to wine.

This week we have been picking the olives from the trees around the winery and vineyard. It has been cold and rainy, and is late in the year for olive picking, but we hope it will be worth it. We are pickling some of the olives and having most of them cold pressed for extra virgin olive oil. The results are all for personal use but there may be some tastes available at the cellar door when they are finished.

Bon Voyage with Nuits Saint Georges
This week Ray has gone to Pakistan to climb really big mountains so we had a glass of wine with lunch on Friday to farewell him. The Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru 'Les Prulieres' 2008 turned out to be an appropriate benchmark. Light in colour and density, the wine was very floral and fruit driven, with lovely soft, chalky tannins. Considering the similar seasons of Burgundy in 2008 and Geelong in 2011 it is good to see a cold, wet year is still able to produce clean and complex Pinot Noir.

New wines reviewed on The Wine Front
Our two new release wines have been reviewed by Campbell Mattinson on The Wine Front. The 2010 Ooh La La Chardonnay recieved 91+ points and is 'a goodun for sure'. Our Benchmark Shiraz Tasting on June 12th was very successful, but somehow with all of the pruning to be done last week got away from us! Everyone at the tasting was very impressed by the strength of all of the wines in each flight and we found it very difficult to choose individual favourites. We were particularly happy with our new 2010 Heathcote Shiraz and 2008 Indra Shiraz, which will be released in the coming months.
