The Australian wine 'Bible' - James Halliday Wine Companion 2013 - has been released this week and includes some great new reviews of Lethbridge wines. As well as maintaining our red five star winery status, the 2009 Allegra Chardonnay has been included in the 'Best of the Best' and given 96 points. We had many other great scores including 94 points for the 2010 Shiraz, 2010 Pinot Noir and 2011 Pinot Gris. To celebrate we are offering a four pack of these wines for a special price here.
Sarah Ahmed, The Wine Detective, has recently reviewed the Allegra Chardonnay 2007 after tasting it in England. Summing the wine up as 'very good indeed', while describing the complexities of our top chardonnay, click here for the full review.
The recently released 2010 Lethbridge Geelong Shiraz has just been given a great review by Campbell Mattinson on The Wine Front website. He scored the wine a very high 93+ and said it is 'clearly [a] cracking cool climate shiraz'. Winter is definately on its way, as you can see from the fog in the vineyard this morning, but we are also finding some Autumn lambs among the vines at the moment. With all of the wines settling down for Winter we have started pruning and vineyard maintenance around Lethbridge. At least the sheep will do the mowing for us over the next few months.
Ray is currently in England hosting Lethbridge tastings with Berkmann Wine Cellars, the leading wine importer in the UK.
